Lamonts offer a preliminary thirty minute consultation to clients thinking of starting their own business at a charge of £50 + Vat. At the meeting we will advise you on the four main options re the structuring of your business [Sole Trader, Partnership, Limited Liability Partnership or Incorporation of a Company] and on which structure may best suit your business and circumstances. We shall advise you on the key financial factors which should be given careful consideration including equitable provision re financial input and the importance of securing the required banking facilities [and the likelihood of a personal guarantee or guarantees being required by the business bank for matters such as a business overdraft facility or for payroll payments by bank transfer facilities direct to employees. We shall advise you about the requirement for business insurance and of the requirements for licences, permissions and consents where applicable. We can refer you to a Chartered Accountant with experience of acting for small and medium sized businesses. We shall also advise you of the various options open to you in respect of the leasing or purchasing of commercial premises and which option is best suited to your new business.
