Lamonts, Solicitors, who were formerly known as Lamont & Co. was established in 1985 by the founding Partner, Eileen Lamont, who has worked as a Solicitor in Ayrshire and previously in Glasgow.
The Practice started out in a purpose-built building in Dalblair Road in Ayr and thereafter moved to Miller Chambers at number 16 Miller Road, Ayr, which is a very gracious Georgian terraced building opposite the well known Kylestrome Hotel. As you will see from the "How to find us" section, our office is very close to Ayr Rail Station with there being good open air and multi-storey car parking within easy walking distance. Lamonts has, over the years, prided itself in having an approachable friendly and efficient legal service to offer to clients. Eileen Lamont, Partner
Eileen has worked as a solicitor in Ayr since 1982 and concentrates mainly on private client work and in particular Property Transactions, Wills, Estates and general wealth management. She has a large "senior citizen" client base for whom she is happy to provide extra attention and personal visits when required. Eileen was one of the first solicitors in Ayrshire to be appointed by the Court as a Financial Guardian to deal with the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act legislation which authorises her to act for individuals who are incapable of managing their own affairs. This involves her in the administration of their finances while liaising with social services, care providers and the client. She is married with children who have attended both Primary and Secondary Schools in Ayr. Eileen's husband Michael is also a solicitor who after 20 years in practice joined Lamonts in November 2010.
Mark Meehan, Partner
Mark has practised as a Solicitor in Ayrshire since 1984 and resides locally. His areas of practice include general Business & Commercial Law covering business purchase & sale, commercial property, development land, company law, partnership law, limited liability partnerships, charities law and pension fund property. Mark has extensive experience of commercial leasing and enjoys a strong client following in that field. He represents a number of business clients and companies mainly in Ayrshire and the Glasgow area. Mark is also active in the field of professional sports, especially football, acting as adviser to licensed agents, to professional football clubs and to sports persons direct. He has past experience serving as Vice Chairman of a professional senior football club. Mark also undertakes private client work in the areas of Residential Property, Wills & Estates and Powers of Attorney.
Kenneth Donnelly, Associate Solicitor
Ken has worked for Lamonts since 1990 having completed his period of Traineeship with the Firm. He has remained with us as an Associate Solicitor and valued member of staff. Ken assists the Partners in all areas of their practice and provides valuable back-up in dealing with client's enquiries. Ken has made valuable input to the development of the business systems at Lamonts.
Susan Forbes, Associate Solicitor
Susan joined Lamonts in 2002 to assist mainly with Executry business and has developed an organized department dealing with Estate Administration. Susan has worked as a solicitor in both North and South Ayrshire for a considerable number of years and has substantial experience in Conveyancing and Executries.
Michael Lamont, Consultant
Michael has practised as a court lawyer for over twenty years having appeared in Sheriff Court and assisted in Court of Session cases. Before joining Lamonts in November 2010, he ran his own practice in Glasgow for over ten years specialising in Employment Law. He has extensive experience of appearing in Employment and Employment Appeal Tribunals in Scotland and England and advising on all related aspects. Michael counts many small and medium sized enterprises as well as multi-national companies among his clients.

Linda Law, Practice Manager
Linda is a qualified Management Accountant(ACMA) who has worked for many years in commerce before joining Lamonts in 2007.
